Biography

Paul-André Bempéchat

A graduate of the Juilliard School, the Sorbonne, and Boston University, Bempéchat’s research focuses on the interplay of music, literature, and politics to examine the survival of minorities. His recent biography of the Breton Impressionist, Jean Cras, Jean Cras, Polymath of Music and Letters (2009) is the founding study of this eclectic composer and the root of his next book, The Music of Nationalism.
