Ramón Areces Fellowship

Alberto López Ortega is the recipient of the Ramón Areces Fellowship for 2024-2025.
Javier Martínez-Cantó is the inaugural Ramón Areces Fellow.

The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) is pleased to announce the creation of the Ramón Areces Fellowship. This fellowship enables outstanding post-doctoral scholars who are Spanish citizens to be in residence at CES for one academic year to conduct research at Harvard University. Accepted candidates will join fellow Europe-focused scholars from around the world as part of the Center's Visiting Scholars Program and attend and participate in the weekly New Research on Europe Seminar.

The Ramón Areces Fellowship is made possible through a generous gift by the Ramón Areces Foundation. The Madrid-based foundation was established in 1976 to provide research and learning opportunities for Spanish citizens and to support initiatives that advance solutions to societal challenges in the realms of science, education, culture and economics.
