Seminars and Lectures

CES Director Daniel Ziblatt speaking with Karen Donfried at the Guido Goldman Lecture on Germany, November 2023

The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) hosts 18 seminar and lecture series throughout the academic year featuring European scholars and public leaders. These series are spearheaded by the Center's seminar chairs who represent the interdisciplinary focus of our Center. Unless otherwise noted, all events are open to the public. The seminars aim to:

  • Highlight specific themes relevant to contemporary Europe and create a space for substantive discussions and debate with CES members and speakers.
  • Bring policy experts and scholars from a variety of disciplinary perspectives to present ongoing research, exchange ideas, and analyze recent developments.
  • Educate and engage students and members of the Harvard community on current issues concerning European history, politics, economy, and societies.
