The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) permanently houses resident faculty members from Harvard's social science departments and nine staff members. As part of its Visiting Scholars Program, CES hosts visiting scholars from Europe and other parts of the world. The Center also has graduate student affiliates, who are working toward their doctorates within the Division of Social Sciences at Harvard, and undergraduate affiliates who have received CES grants for research, work and travel in Europe and/or have declared their intention to complete the Secondary Field in European History, Politics and Societies (EHPS).
In addition, CES has established an extensive network of Europe experts within the broader Harvard campus and other universities in the Boston area. This includes non-resident faculty associates from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and Harvard’s professional schools and local affiliates from other institutions who are active in the study and teaching of modern Europe. The Center’s non-residential senior fellows, who hail from academia, business, government, and the policy arena, serve as strategic advisors to CES and help advance its mission to stimulate new thinking and research on Europe.
