Biography

George Ross

Ross is Hillquit Professor emeritus at Brandeis and ad personam Chaire Jean Monnet at the University of Montreal. He is a past chair of the European Union Studies Association, having served as acting director of CES (1998–1999), director of the EU Center at Harvard (1998–2000), and chair of the Council for European Studies (1990–1997). Ross is additionally on several editorial boards. His books include Jacques Delors and European Integration (1995) and Euros and Europeans: EMU and The European Social Model (with A. Martin, 2004) and The Brave New World of European Labor (with A. Martin, 1999). In 2011 he published two books, The European Union and its Crises, and What’s Left of the Left: Democrats and Social Democrats in Challenging Times (with J. Cronin and J. Shock).
