While many progressive parties in Europe have viewed the concepts of the nation state and patriotism as relics of the past, Michael Bröning will argue that they are the foundation for building a strong Europe in a multipolar world. Sharing findings of his new book Lob der Nation (Praise to the Nation), Bröning will make the case that these principles are central to building a sense of belonging and solidarity among citizens and thus making internationalism less threatening to them.
