Michael Bröning is Head of the International Policy Analysis Department at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a political foundation affiliated to the Social Democratic Party of Germany. He is the founding editor of Internationale Politik und Gesellschaft, a tri-lingual political magazine, and has published several books on European and Middle Eastern politics. He is a frequent contributer to English- and German-language media, including Foreign Affairs, Politico, Die Zeit, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and others. He has taught at Berlin’s Freie Universität, and has testified before the foreign affairs committee of the German Bundestag and the European Parliament.
