On December 2015, the Catalan Parliament has approved a road map to get the independence from Spain in 18 months. The new Catalan President, elected on January 12, took the mentioned road map as a governmental priority. Andreu Mas-Colell, former Minister of Economy of the Catalan Government until January 13, played a key role as a negotiator between the Spanish and the Catalan Government during the last 5 years. In his talk he will point out the main political and economical challenges that both governments are facing in the near future and all possible scenarios taking into account the European Union response.
