About

Douglas Alexander is a 2015 Fisher Family Fellow with the Future of Diplomacy Project and is widely considered to be one of the most dynamic European politicians of his generation. He is the former Shadow Foreign Secretary for the United Kingdom, serving in Her Majesty's opposition Labour Party in the UK House of Commons. He previously served in key cabinet positions during Labour governments, including as UK Secretary of State for International Development (2007-10), UK Governor of the World Bank (2007-2010), and Minister of State for Europe (2005-06). Until March of this year he served as the Member of Parliament for Paisley and Renfrewshire South in Scotland.
