Between 1996 and 2007, the Spanish economy was one of the fastest growing and
the most successful economies in Europe. This success, however, came to a halt in
2008, and in the winter of 2013-14, Spain still suffers the effects of a very painful
economic crisis. The presentation explores the consequences of the crisis and
draws some lessons from the Spanish experience.
