The dangers of a tyranny-of-the-majority have become more visible demagogues to dismantle democracy in the name of popular majorities. At the same time, constraints on majority rule in the form of countermajoritarian or non-majoritarian institutions (e.g. the electoral college, courts, central banks, the European Union) thwart the will of the people and cause popular disaffection. Join leading European and American scholars to discuss these topics and enrich debates on both sides of the Atlantic.
