In an increasing number of countries across the OECD, the current economic crisis has brought back the Great Recession phantom, putting the European Welfare State in danger.
The gap between the wealthiest citizens and middle and working class is widening. Furthermore it seems that the latter ones will be even worse off than they are now in the coming years.
This fact will dramatically influence the future of Europe even if macroeconomic indicators improve. This talk will outline important structural measures necessary to affect change and highlight the necessity for stronger public debate and information to facilitate a turn around.
