Vidar Helgesen is the current Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Norway and responsible for EU and EEA Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A politician from Norway's Conservative Party, Minister Helgesen served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2001-2005. Between 2006 and 2013 he was the Secretary-General of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance.
