Join us for the inaugural event of the Seminar on Democracy: Past, Present, and Future, chaired by Grzegorz Ekiert and Daniel Ziblatt. This series will explore what lessons can be learned from historical and contemporary cases of democratic breakthrough and backsliding, ranging from Weimar Germany’s spectacular collapse in the 1930s to post-communist Hungary and Poland.
In this seminar, Sheri Berman, Wolfgang Merkel, Yascha Mounk, and Pippa Norris will discuss what they perceive as the most important challenges facing democracy today.
