Mafalda Pratas Fernandes is a Ph.D. student in government at Harvard University. Her research focuses on political representation, party politics and political economy in Western Europe. She is also particularly interested in drawing comparisons between the politics and social trends of Western Europe and those of the United States. Prior to coming to Harvard, she completed a B.A. in economics and political science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
