Johannes Vogel has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 and is the spokesman for labor market and pension policy as well as the chairman of the working group on labor and social affairs of the Free Democratic Party’s (FDP) parliamentary group at the German Bundestag. Previously, he worked in an executive position at Germany’s Federal Employment Agency for three years, including a period as the chairman of the management board of its Solingen-Wuppertal unit and as the head of strategy and business development of the international and specialized services, the agency’s international department. He already served as a member of the German Bundestag between 2009 and 2013.
Vogel joined the FDP in 1999. Within the FDP, he was a member of the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis county council until 2009 and, from 2005 to 2010, federal chairman of the Young Liberals (youth section of the FDP). Since 2007, Vogel has been a member of the federal executive board of the FDP and, since 2014, secretary-general of the FDP in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia.
