Jacob Abolafia

Jacob Abolafia is a PhD student in government at Harvard University. His work focuses of the history of political thought, broadly construed, from classical antiquity to the present day, as well as on the tradition of continental philosophy from Spinoza through Habermas and the critical theorists. Other interests include Jewish political thought, classical reception, and hermeneutic theory.

Abolafia holds a BA in Philosophy from Yale University (2010), and completed M.Phil degrees in Political Thought and Intellectual History (2011) and Classics/Ancient Philosophy (2012) from Cambridge, where he was a Paul Mellon Fellow at Clare College until 2013. At Harvard, Abolafia has been the organizer of the European Philosophy Workshop (2015), as well as convener of the Graduate Conference in Political Theory and the Political Theory Colloquium.
