Biography

Daniel Lowery

Daniel Lowery is a Ph.D. candidate in government at Harvard University. His research covers topics in historical political economy, authoritarian durability, regime change, conflict, and long-run development. His thesis studies how succession institutions in pre-modern monarchies effected political stability and, in turn, shaped modern comparative development trajectories.

At the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Lowery chairs the Seminar on European Development in a Historical Perspective.
