Biography

Bo Yun Park

Bo Yun Park is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Social Science Data Lab (D-Lab) at the University of California, Berkeley.

Her research lies at the intersection of political, cultural, and transnational sociology. She has a particular interest in dynamics of social inclusion and exclusion, social change, technology, and digital politics in democracies under stress. Her dissertation, “Is S(H)e Presidential? The Changing Scripts of Political Leadership, 1995-2020,” investigated how political strategists in France and the United States craft narratives of political leadership for presidential candidates in the digital age.

Park received her Ph.D. in Sociology at Harvard University, where she was affiliated with several Harvard institutions including the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies. She earned a B.A. from Barnard College, and a M.A. from Sciences Po Paris in Political Science.
