Alex Hartley is a Ph.D. student in comparative literature at Harvard University. His dissertation analyzes colonial copyright in the British and French empires. Before coming to Harvard, Hartley worked as a journalist in London and helped run a small accessible theatre company.
Hartley is a Graduate Student Affiliate at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies and the recipient of a Krupp Foundation Dissertation Research Fellowship.
