Windeler is a professor of sociology of organizations and head of the department of sociology at the University of Technology Berlin. His research interests include the theory of organizations and inter-organizational networks. He is currently working on a project entitled “Reflexive Regulation.” Informed by structuration theory (Giddens) he will advance an understanding of regulation which integrates discussions on this topic in law, political science, and sociology, as well as insights from sociological institutionalism and social network analysis. His ongoing research on developments in health care and the field of semiconductors will serve as empirical points of reference.
