Jutta Allmendinger is President of the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), one of Europe’s preeminent social science research centers. Prior to assuming the leadership of WZB in 2007, Allmendinger was Professor of Educational Sociology and Labor Market Research at Humboldt University (2003-2007).
Her research interests focus primarily on gender inequality in the workplace, rising inequality in Europe and educational reform in Germany.
Allmendinger held positions as Director of the Institute of Employment Research, Nuremberg (1992-2007) and as Professor of Sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich (2003-2007). She was a Fellow at Harvard Business School from 1991-1992.
