Amanda Klekowski von Koppenfels

Von Koppenfels is a lecturer in migration and politics at the University of Kent, Brussels, where she directs the MA in international migration. Her research interests include Aussiedler migration, German citizenship, and, more broadly, the access to and exercise of citizenship, including citizenship testing and the political participation of migrants in their host countries and in their countries of origin. Her current research focuses on the links that Americans living overseas maintain to the United States (transnationalism). At CES, she will finalize a book-length comparative study exploring the political and socio-economic transnational engagement of Americans living in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. She will be in residence at CES from September 2012 through March 2013.
