Yannis Ioannides is Max and Herta Neubauer Professor of Economics and has been teaching at Tufts University since 1995. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and has published more than one hundred scientific works. His research interests combine social economics, macroeconomics, and social interactions and urban structure on a world scale. He served as a member of the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Social Interactions and Economic Inequality and is currently a member of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity: A Global Working Group, of the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics, University of Chicago. His book,From Neighborhoods to Nations, The Economics of Social Interactions, was published in 2013. He has taken a particular interest in the Greek and European crisis.
