Miriam Meckel

Miriam Meckel is the Editor-in-Chief of Wirtschaftswoche, one of Germany's leading financial magazines. She is author of several books, including the German bestsellers Brief an Mein Leben: Erfahrungen mit einem Burnout (Letter to my Life: Experiences with Burnout) and Das Glück der Unerreichbarkeit (The Joy of Being Unreachable). Meckel also serves as Professor of Corporate Communication at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and is Director of that university's Institute for Media and Communication Management. From 2001 to 2005, Meckel held positions in the North Rhine-Westphalia government at the rank of undersecretary. She has written frequently for German and international news media, and she received a Cicero Speaker Prize in 2001.
