Biography

Lena Hipp

Lena Hipp is the head of the research group “Work and Care” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. She received her PhD in Organizational Behavior at Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 2011. Her research interests lie at the intersection of public policies, work, and families. In her current work, she compares income and working conditions in the social service sector across affluent economies and conducts an experimental study seeking to understand the sources of labor market discrimination of parents. She has recently published in journals such as Social Forces, Social Sciences Research, Socio-Economic Review, and Journal of Marriage and Family.
