Jacek Tomkiewicz is Research Director at TIGER (Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research) – a research center which operates within Kozminski University (KU) in Warsaw. He graduated from Kraków University of Economics, where he also worked as a research assistant at the Department of Finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is a Lecturer (in economics, economic policy, public finance) at KU.
Dr Tomkiewicz has also been involved in practical aspects of economic policy – in 2002 and 2003 he worked as an Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and was a member of the team responsible for public finance reform. In 2009-10, he was a lecturer and researcher in European Institute of Public Administration, European Centre for Public Finance Management.
Dr Tomkiewicz has spent time in foreign research institutions including the OECD (France), University of Brighton (UK), Hoover Institution at Stanford University (USA) and Columbia University (USA). His research interests are mainly focused on macroeconomics and economic policy in emerging markets.
