Genschel is professor of political science at Jacobs University Bremen and a former research associate of the Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. His main interest is in issues of international political economy including taxation and the transformation of the state, European integration and, more recently, international organizations. Genschel will be a visiting professor for the 2013–2014 academic year.
