Katja Guenther

Graduate Student in History Science


Guenther is in her sixth year of graduate study at Harvard. Her dissertation \"A Body Made of Nerves: Reflexes, Body Maps, and the Rise of Cerebrocentrism (1870-1950)\" tracks the real and concrete ways in which physicians have understood the mind-body relationship, in both clinical and experimental settings. Guenther has spent the year of 2006/7 researching her dissertation in Europe. In 2008-9, she holds a fellowship from the Mellon Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies.
