Rivas-López is assistant professor at the Complutense University of Madrid (Felipe II College, Campus Aranjuez.) She received her Ph.D. in actuarial science and an MA in business administration from Complutense University of Madrid, as well as an MA in insurance management from ICEA. She is currently collaborating with SAS Business Intelligence in the implementation of Solvency II. During her spring 2009 residency at the Center, she expects to continue her analysis of the recent changes in European insurance supervision and to explore how the new EU Solvency II regulation affects the modeling of solvency in insurance and reinsurance companies, examining differences between the U.S. and EU.
