Peter Schneider

Peter Schneider is a journalist and novelist. He has written critically-acclaimed novels such as The Wall Jumper (“Der Mauerspringer”) as well as non-fiction works such as Berlin Now: The City After the Wall and Rebellion und Wahn: Mein ’68 and several screenplays. His writings cover the experiences of a generation across a wide variety of topics, and he has contributed essays to a number of media in Germany, the United States, and across the world. Schneider has held a number of visiting professorships and has served as writer-in-residence at Georgetown and Emory Universities, among others. He was a short-term Kennedy Fellow at CES in 2009, and returned to CES in 2016 shortly before the U.S. Presidential elections.
