Michele Alacevich

Biography

Alacevich's area of research is the history of postwar development ideas and institutions. At the Center for European Studies, Alacevich will study postwar policies for regional development in Italy in connection to the global history of development ideas. His book The Political Economy of the World Bank: The Early Years (2009) has been translated in Italian, Spanish, French, Russian, and Arabic. His publications include articles in, among others, History of Political Economy, Review of Political Economy, Development, Rivista di Storia Economica, and Journal of the History of Economic Thought. Before moving at the CES, Alacevich was a postdoctoral fellow at Palermo University, Italy; historian in residence at the World Bank; and research scholar at Columbia University.
