Liza Mügge is an assistant professor in gender and ethnicity at the political science department of the University of Amsterdam. Trained in both anthropology and political science, she combined ethnographic fieldwork and systematic comparative analysis in her research. Her monograph, Beyond Dutch Borders (2011) analyses the transnational political activities of migrants in the Netherlands. Mügge's work is published or forthcoming in several journals, including Global Networks, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, International Migration, and Revue Européenne des Migrations Internationales. At CES, she will research the political representation of Muslim women in Europe during the Spring 2012 term.
