Lutton was awarded his PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in February 2011. He specializes in EU financial markets integration, with a particular emphasis on hedge fund regulation. He will be in residence at CES for a full academic year beginning September 2011, and is currently working on a project that examines the institutionalization of financial regulation in international financial market regimes. The study considers the significant concurrence between EU legislation and international practice in hedge fund regulation, using the international informational network paradigm of regulatory interdependence theory. Lutton is interested in Social Network Analysis as a means to measure the bonds and ties that relate individuals in elite networks.
