Camille Hamidi is associate professor of political science at the University of Lyon, France. She is a political sociologist and she studies ordinary forms of politicization, the political behavior of ethnic minorities, and collective action of migrants. She also works on voluntary associations and civil society. Hamidi has an interest in ethnographic and qualitative methods. She will be in residence at the CES from September 2011 to January 2012, to work on a project on how people use everyday ethnic categorizations to make sense of politics, and the case of French urban deprived areas.
