Nicolas Dodier is research director at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in France and professor at the École des Hautes études en Sciences Sociales (Paris). His work has focused on risk, technology, work, and medicine. His publications include: L'expertise médicale (1993), Les hommes et les machines (1995), and Leçons politiques de l'épidémie de sida (2003). He has also published in journals such as: Science in Context; Culture, Medicine and Psychiatry; Science, Technology and Human Values; and Sociology of Health and Illness. He is currently working on redressing situations of violence, in particular from the analysis of public health tragedies. He will be in residence at CES from September 2011 to August 2012.
