Russell is a sociology PhD candidate specializing in the political economy of the media. Russell graduated from Cambridge University, Jesus College, with a BA with honors in the social and political sciences. He is currently a National Science Foundation Graduate research fellow. Russell is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. His research interests include motion picture and television production, media and politics, and conservative and progressive movements.
