Mahaira-Odoni taught political theory and international law and published articles and critical reviews for Telos, particularly on the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre. A vocalist with the New England Conservatory, Odoni produced a CD, Mistral, following other recordings. She edited and translated into Greek Monteagle Stearns’ Entangled Allies: US Policy in Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus, as well as G.T. Allison and K. Nicolaidis’ (editors), The Greek Paradox: Promise vs. Performance. She translated into Greek, English, and French chapters for Angeliki E. Laiou (editor) The Economic History of Byzantium. Her research focuses on Venetian history in thirteenth-century Greece and the link between history and literature (see WPS #144, #179 and Open Forum #9 on Cavafy.) Mahaira-Odoni co-chairs the Greek Study Group.
