Biography

Lagadec is currently an adjunct professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, and lecturer in European Affairs at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is a fellow at SAIS’ Center for Transatlantic Relations, and also teaches at Tulane University. His research focuses on European civilization and politics, transatlantic relations, and crisis management. He is a Reserve Officer in the French Navy, specialized in policy planning. He speaks French and English and reads German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Latin, Ancient Greek, and some Arabic. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford. His latest book, Transatlantic Relations in the 21st Century: Europe, America, and the Rise of the Rest, was published in 2012.
