Andrei S. Markovits, a long-time friend of CES and the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor and the Karl W. Deutsch Collegiate Professor of Comparative Politics and German Studies at the University of Michigan, was honored with a Festschrift in Germany. This collection of writings was published on the occasion of his 70th birthday and recognizes his decades-long scholarship on Germany, sports and human-animal relations as well as his transatlantic comparison that highlights Markovits’s special approach to the social sciences.
