Join the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) and the Art Collection Deutsche Bundesbank for the ARTS FIRST Festival at Harvard University.

On view is the art exhibit "Parallel Beginnings: New German Expressionists & Ida Kerkovius – Works from the Art Collection Deutsche Bundesbank and the Guido Goldman Art Collection." Visitors are invited to experience German abstract art by three artists of the Frankfurt Quadriga group – Karl Otto Götz, Heinz Kreutz, and Bernard Schultze – as well as the colorful works by Riga-born Ida Kerkovius.

The Deutsche Bundesbank has been collecting art since it was established in 1957, and the art on loan for this exhibit is among its earliest acquisitions. The "Parallel Beginnings" exhibit also features CES’s collection of Schultze and Kerkovius, which were bequeathed by CES co-founder Guido Goldman, whose passion for color was central to his art collection. The range of early and later works by Bernard Schultze will be the largest collection on display in the United States.
