During the summer of 2022, Prishtina, Kosovo hosted Manifesta 14, the European Nomadic Biennal. Founded in the early 1990s, this European Nomadic Biennial has taken place in different cities and regions in Europe every two years. Manifesta 14 aimed to support the citizens of Kosovo in their ambition to reclaim public spaces and to rewrite the future of their capital as an open-minded metropolis in the Balkans and in Europe through the development of a new cultural institution.
With little art infrastructure, how did Manifesta 14 support the young nation of Kosovo to develop international connections? What was the Biennial’s impact on its cultural and urban landscape? What is the Biennial’s
enduring legacy in Europe to strengthen cross-cultural relations?
Note: Prior to this event, the Center invites you to view The Guido Goldman Art Collection at Adolphus Busch Hall from 1:00-4:00pm as part of Harvard's ARTS FIRST Festival.
