Europe and war in Ukraine: A conversation with Kristjan Prikk

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has thrown into sharp focus the need for a clear, unified, and forward-thinking European foreign policy. The cornerstones of the European response to this crisis will inevitably be the security policy of the European Union, as well as the state of transatlantic relations between the United States and European partners. In this keynote, Ambassador Kristjan Prikk will discuss the European Union’s present and future priorities in these fields, drawing on his experience in both the security sector and transatlantic diplomatic relations.

Covid, Ukraine: What consequences for the European economy?

Europe’s response to Covid has arguably been strong and hailed by some as its “Hamiltonian” moment. However, the EU must now face another moment of truth as war in Ukraine threatens its economic recovery. This panel will explore economic challenges facing Europe post-Covid, including how to fund its Ukraine response, whether it should cut off Russian energy supplies, and how to seize opportunities presented by the crisis to move forward on the green transition.
