The Boston Turkish Film Festival (BTFF) continues its tradition of highlighting leading and new filmmakers from Turkey. On its 20th anniversary, the festival will feature more than 20 films from April 15-30, 2021. Many of the films will make their North American premiers. The festival highlights include:
Hey There! (Seni Buldum Ya!), the latest film of the acclaimed director Reha Erdem.
You Know Him (Nasipse Adayız) by director Ercan Kesal who is the recipient of BTFF’s Excellence in Turkish Cinema Award in 2018.
Food for a Funeral (Ölü Ekmeği) by director Reis Çelik who is the recipient of BTFF’s Excellence in Turkish Cinema Award in 2014.
Passed by Censor (Görülmüştür) by director Serhat Karaaslan who is the recipient of multiple awards at BTF’s Documentary and Short Film Competitions (2010, 2012, 2014).
Dersaadet Apartment (Dersaadet Apartmanı) by director Tankut Kılınç.
Love, Spells and All That (Aşk, Büyü vs) by director Ümit Ünal.
There will also be special screenings of award-winning films from last year’s Documentary & Short Film Competition:
A Few Ordinary Days (Sıradan Birkac Gün) by Pınar Okan. Winner of the Best Documentary Jury Award.
Far Away (Uzaklarda) by director Arjin Civan Şahin. Winner of the Best Documentary Audience Award.
The Stone in the Well (Kuyudaki Taş) Special Mention – BTF Documentary and Short Film Competition (2020)
