Do countries with stronger democracies grant immigrants more welfare rights than countries where democracy is less developed? Comparative empirical analyses of immigrant welfare rights are often restricted to developed democracies in Europe.
This presentation will discuss democracy as the backdrop and as an explanatory factor for formulating and testing hypotheses on immigrant welfare rights.
