Eleni Varvitsiotis is the Brussels correspondent for Greece’s leading newspaper Kathimerini and the TV news station SKAI. She has extensively covered the Greek financial crisis by delivering daily news, breaking reports, and in-depth features. In 2016, she received an award of excellence by the Botsis Foundation, the most prestigious award in journalism in Greece. Before arriving in Brussels, Varvitsiotis covered many international breaking stories, including the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010 and the fall of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and the protests in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
