Democratic Resilience in Times of Political Polarization: The Role of Political Parties, Civil Society, and the Media.
Teresa Völker is a postdoctoral research fellow at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). Her research lies at the intersection of comparative politics, political sociology and political communication, with a focus on democracy.
At the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES), Völker will explore how political parties, civil society organizations, and media organizations contribute to the stability and resilience of democracies in times of political polarization.
Völker obtained her Ph.D. in political sociology from Freie Universität Berlin. She holds a M.A. in social sciences from Humboldt University and a B.A. in political science, sociology, and media and communication from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, with research stays at King’s College London and University of Milan. Völker previously held visiting scholar positions at Science Po Paris and the University of Oslo.
