Biography
Paulus Wagner is Marie-Skłodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow in government and sociology at University of Vienna. His research interest lies in mixed-methods research on political preference formation in work environments as well as on the political feedback of welfare state reforms.
At the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES), Wagner will investigate how evolving workplace dynamics – shifts in management styles, vertical segregation between status groups, and horizontal segregation between social groups – shape affective polarization, redistribution preferences, and populist support. The project aims to explore how the changing organization of work affects political conflict in advanced democracies.
Wagner completed his Ph.D. at Sciences Po Paris and was previously a Max Weber Fellow and part-time assistant professor for qualitative methods at the European University Institute.
This information is accurate for the time period that the visiting scholar is affiliated with CES.
