Thinking about writing a senior thesis but not sure where to start? This introductory workshop is designed to help you understand what a thesis really is - and what it isn’t. We’ll break down how to move from a broad interest to a focused, researchable question, explore examples of successful projects, and discuss strategies for identifying the right advisor for your topic. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of the thesis process, what makes a strong research question, and how to build the mentoring relationships that will guide you from idea to finished work.

About

If you are a Harvard College student interested in writing a senior thesis, consider attending the Thesis Workshop for Juniors organized by the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) to help you navigate through the daunting process. This session is the first one in this workshop series designed to:

  • build fundamental skills for writing a successful thesis.
  • access the best methods and practices for remote learning and research.
  • showcase the work of seniors who are completing their research.

Mark your calendar for other upcoming sessions of the Thesis Workshop for Juniors.
