Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and accelerating climate change are changing the power dynamics in the Arctic. Resource exploration in the region can be increasingly driven by geopolitical interest rather than economic competitiveness, while protection of the pristine environment may take a back seat. This seminar will examine European interests in the Arctic from an integrated security perspective.
